Three down – and three to go

I had a big day today!  My pawrents took me back to my cancer doc’s office for my third chemo treatment.  Before the treatment, they did x-rays and blood work to check for any spread of that stupid, ugly disease and guess what — no lung mets and no mets in my lymph nodes either!!!  Dr. Green said my blood work was “the picture of health.”  That made my pawrents very happy.  Then, I had my third chemo treatment with three more to go, so as Bon Jovi might say, “We’re half way there.  Whoooaaa, we’re livin’ on a prayer.”  When I came out to meet my pawrents, I got to meet a new friend.  He is a St. Bernard with cancer too.  He looked like a great big three legged horse to me, and he was starting his first chemo treatment today.  He was very nice to me, but he slimed my mommy.  I guess that’s what those guys do.  My daddy was disappointed that he didn’t have a barrel of rum or brandy around his neck, but he still liked my new friend anyway.

I am feeling pretty good so far but I’m sure the next couple of days I will have the normal ookie feeling.  I just can’t wait to be done with it.  I hope all my friends are doing well.  I’ll talk to you all soon.

We hope mommy told that St. Bernard’s people all about the fun support this community has to offer! If not, tell her she can download and print Tripawds info cards for next time. 😉

The ookie will go away; but it always means extra lovin’ and attention and treats.

Yay, Ginger! An all-clear from the vet is PAWSOME!!! We’re going to celebrate for you tonight with some ICE CREAM! And maybe peanut butter too!

Holly always feels ookie after chemo, too. This last treatment we found that canned tripe worked wonders to get her to eat… although it smells terrible! Zuzu would cry when I opened it – she wanted it in the worst way, too. 🙂
    Best wishes,
    Holly, Zuzu and Susan

Admin, my pawrents never miss an opportunity to tell the world about They told my new St. Bernard friend’s mom, and they also tell anybody who will listen. A lot of my pawrents’ friends who don’t even have dogs follow our story, so hopefully some of them will contribute as well.

Thanks for the idea about the Tripawds info cards. We always see another Tripawd at the vet’s office. I’ll print some out and give them to pawrents to keep in their wallets or maybe I’ll make a pocket for my RuffWear harness and put them in there!!
